Course overview
Students study the following professional disciplines:
- Acting;
- Stage speech;
- Stage movement;
- Stage fight, fencing;
- Choir vocal ensemble;
- Solo singing;
- Make up;
- History of variety theatre art;
- Variety theatre acting;
- Theory of music, solfeggio, etc.
At the beginning of the Variety actor course GITIS familiarize its students with the specifics of Stanislavsky’s school — future professionals learn stage attention skills, improve physical and improvisatory condition, master inner monologue and work on other elements of the acting techniques. Afterwards they begin to work on the character creation, learn variety genres and prepare for the graduation performances. After the graduation students perform dramatic roles, take part in musicals and variety shows.
Theory
Apart from that, students obtain a full cycle of liberal arts education: history, history of Russian and foreign theatre, history of Russian and foreign literature, history of the cinema, music, philosophy, history of fine art and many others.
Practice
During the course students, starting from the 3rd year, take part in graduation performances and can act on the GITIS educational stages, participate in the festivals, vocal competitions, concerts.
Language
Foreign students study Russian language for 4 years, therefore getting a good knowledge of the Russian language as a bonus.
Diploma
After the graduation they get state diploma, valid throughout the world.
