GITIS auditions in Kazakhstan

GITIS launches auditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan the upcoming spring as our school deepens ties with the country.

14 performances will be shown at the III International Student Festival of graduation performances “GITIS fest”

The festival will showcase 14 performances from various theater schools and theaters in cities such as Belgorod, Belgrade (Serbia), Vladivostok, Zarechny, Kazan, Moscow, New Delhi (India), St. Petersburg, Shanghai (China), and Yaroslavl. The festival aims to serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between major Russian and international theater schools.

GITIS Summer School in Kyrgyzstan

GITIS Summer School dedicated to Theater Education will be held at Issyk-Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan on July 9-19th .

Among participants of this Summer School will be GITIS professors and theater professors from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

These 10 days will be dedicated to theater education — there will be classes and workshops, round tables, and discussion panels revealing all aspects of theater education. GITIS is represented at this summer school by Vice-Rector for Academic Work Edita Tibilova and Head of the Department of stage movement Aidar Zakirov and a professor of scenic speech Elena Dvizova.

Together with the students of Alexander Barmak’s Studio, they will demonstrate the methodology of teaching the Russian school of theater. Participants will also meet GITIS Rector Grigory Zaslavsky, who will lead a discussion panel “The Current State of Russian Theater”. Participants of this summer school will receive certificates of advanced training from GITIS.

This summer school was possible thanks to the Presidential Grants Fund, the Fund for Support and Development of Theater Education, and the Humanitarian Initiative of Ivan Polyakov (member of GITIS Board of Trustees). Special thanks to the curator of cultural projects in the Russian House in Bishkek Igor Vorontsov for organizing all summer school events.
