A book of contemporary Russian dramaturgy was published in Catalan language in Barcelona. This publication happened due to the collaboration between GITIS and the National Institute of Theatre in Barcelona.
Last year GITIS published a book with five plays by contemporary Catalan authors. This year a book of Russian authors was published in Catalan language. GITIS rector Grigory Zaslavsky put together this unique book, that represents Russian authors of different generations. This book was published thanks to the support of the Russian House in Barcelona.
The book includes following works: “The Advocate” (2014) by Leonid Zorin, “The Recessive Gene” (2000) by Alexander Zheleztsov, “Moskausee” (1999) by Andrei Vishnevsky, “The Tsar of the Venik” (2009) by Yevgeny Kazachkov, “The Bloody Lady. A Life Story of Daria Saltykova as noblewoman in Moscow” (2009) by Vadim Levanov, “I am afraid of love” (2009) by Elena Isaeva, and “Grandmother” (2015) by Olga Mikhailova.
We hope that the repertoire of Catalan theaters will soon be enriched with plays based on the works of our Russian playwrights.
