Students of the musical theatre faculty, class of Lika Rulla, presented the show “Casting” on stage of the Théâtre National Tunisien.
“Casting” is a dramatic story told with a compendium of bold pieces from world renowned musicals. Every single actor knows what “casting” is. But still every story is unique, and students of the GITIS musical theatre faculty shared theirs.
“We have never seen such powerful acting work as from the GITIS students. This is something extraordinary. It was very nice to hear some songs in our native language, it brought us even closer. We are absolutely delighted with this performance. You don’t need the translation to understand what is being said. This young people are incredibly talented, they’ve got the gift from the sky!” — members of audience shared after the performance with Ksenia Teskina, a student of the faculty of theatre history and criticism who’s writing the diary of the tour.
Also Alexander Khukhlin, a teacher of the directing faculty went to Tunisia to lead a series of master classes on acting and directing for students of the Institute of Dramatic Arts of Tunisia. The workshop takes place at the Tunisian National Theater. Tunisian fairy tales were picked as the material of the training. The workshop will conclude by the presentation to the audience of the excerpts and sketches.
This tour is a part of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership programme. The visit is supported by the Russian House in Tunisia.
