GITIS is offering classes on acting and stage movement for students at the University of Chile, participants from the theater school “Finis Terae,” and members of the actors’ union “Chileactores” in Santiago. Workshops will be lead by the senior teachers Robert Elkibaev and Ekaterina Granitova-Lavrovskaya (stage movement and directing department, respectively). The dean of the choreography department Ksenia Popova and the senior teacher of the contemporary choreography department Ramune Khodorkaite will lead the dance school.
The training will start with a lecture titled “An actor’s work on a role,” analysing A.Chekhov’s play “The Seagull”. The participants will then proceed to rehearsing scenes from the play with GITIS teachers. The project will conclude with an open class on acting.
In Santiago GITIS will participate in the exhibition “Higher Education in Russia: Education Without Borders,” organized by the Russian House in Chile. GITIS’s vice-rector for general affairs and project management Marina Kiryushkina will represent the institute. GITIS will also host an exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the Museum of the Moscow Art Theatre.
The GITIS school in Chile is organized in collaboration with the Russian House in Chile as part of the “Priority 2030” strategic academic leadership program.
