GITIS auditions in Kazakhstan

GITIS launches auditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan the upcoming spring as our school deepens ties with the country.

14 performances will be shown at the III International Student Festival of graduation performances “GITIS fest”

The festival will showcase 14 performances from various theater schools and theaters in cities such as Belgorod, Belgrade (Serbia), Vladivostok, Zarechny, Kazan, Moscow, New Delhi (India), St. Petersburg, Shanghai (China), and Yaroslavl. The festival aims to serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between major Russian and international theater schools.

GITIS fourth year shows at “Your Chance” Festival

“Your Chance” International festival of fourth year shows will be hold online this year. GITIS is taking part this year with two shows, both by Maxim Melamedov (Directing faculty, Leonid Kheifets’ class).

On April 16th Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District” will be presented. Based on the novel by Nikolai Leskov the show is performed by students of the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (Sofia, Bulgaria).

On April 26th students of GITIS Directing faculty will present The Miracle of Saint Antony” by Maurice Maeterlinck.

Everyone has a chance to watch the broadcast of the festival’s program at “Na Strastnom” Theatre Center’s YouTube account. After every live stream there will be an online discussion of the performance with participation of theatre critics. Learn more at the Theatre Centre website and Facebook page.
