GITIS auditions in Kazakhstan

GITIS launches auditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan the upcoming spring as our school deepens ties with the country.

14 performances will be shown at the III International Student Festival of graduation performances “GITIS fest”

The festival will showcase 14 performances from various theater schools and theaters in cities such as Belgorod, Belgrade (Serbia), Vladivostok, Zarechny, Kazan, Moscow, New Delhi (India), St. Petersburg, Shanghai (China), and Yaroslavl. The festival aims to serve as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between major Russian and international theater schools.

The Students’ Scientific and Creative Society and Student Council of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) invites you to participate in the 1st scientific and practical conference with international participation,
Oriental Theatre — traditions and modern practices.

The conference will take place both online and offline.

Moscow

The principal purpose of the conference is to exchange theoretical and practical knowledge about Oriental and Russian methods and traditional and modern practices in theatrical culture.

Objectives of the conference:

  1. To create a space for free dialogue between Russian students and students from Eastern countries aiming for collaborative study of national theatrical practices;
  2. To expand the boundaries of knowledge in performing arts. Taking into account the current situation to show interest in the culture of Eastern countries;
  3. To draw attention to the vision of theatrical processes by the young generation.

Students, undergraduates, and postgraduates, both theoretical and practical faculties, whose field of interest is the theatrical art of the East (those under 35 years of age), are invited to participate in the conference.

Participation in the conference is free of charge. The organizing committee will not cover any travel expenses.
Languages: Russian, English (for international students).
Deadline: March 16, 2024.

The application form (Appendix 1) has to be filled out either in Russian or in English as follows:

  • Abstract of the paper (150 — 200 words);
  • information about the participant: academic degree, academic title, place of work/study, city, position, contacts (email, phone number), online/offline participation; the language of the paper;

Timing of the report: 15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for discussion. It is possible to display videos and presentations.

The application form should be in docs format. The file should be entitled by last name (e.g., Ivanov S._application) and sent to cnto@gitis.net.

An organizing committee will contact you in a week by email. The organizing committee reserves the right to reject an application without further comments.
