GITIS will audition for five faculties in Astana in March

February 17, 2024

On March 13-14 teachers from five faculties will hold auditions in the Kazakh capital Astana. The GITIS team will meet those who have a dream to become a drama actor, musical theatre actor, make-up artist, theatre critic or production technology designer.

Grigory Zaslavsky, GITIS rector: “While visiting Kazakhstan earlier in January I met with few prospective students and realized that there are a lot of young talent wanting to study in GITIS. We welcome not only those who dream of becoming actors but also those interested in theatre history and criticism, because theatre studies help theatre art to thrive. GITIS’s new programme on make-up design is offering scholarships this year. As for the faculty of musical theatre that will also audition, it has strong traditions. We are ready to form a big team of teachers to hold a proper round of auditions”.

“We got used to being proud of GITIS graduates from Kazakhstan. Last year one of the graduates Ayana Oskenbaeva directed a ballet in Academic theatre of opera and ballet in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and it’s a very successful show. So if there’s interest in ballet master course or ballet pedagogy course, we’ll have GITIS professionals in the audition team as well,” Mr. Zaslavsky added.

To register for auditions please send the following information to obrazovanie@kaz.rs.gov.ru:

— contact number

— faculty you’re applying to

Please ensure you have a valid ID on the day of the audition.

The project is part of a cooperation between GITIS and Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan.
