GITIS choreography faculty students (MA course) and its graduates performed at the Grand Theatre National of Senegal. Master’s students and graduates took the stage together with students of the Ballet Academy of the Grand Theatre. In the excerpt from the ballet “Swan Lake,” presented by GITIS dancers, the youngest students of the academy performed in the corps de ballet.
Grigory Zaslavskiy, GITIS rector attended the event. “I was very pleased to see that the concert was a sold out. An hour before the show there was a large queue to the box office. This is wonderful. Representatives of foreign embassies in Dakar attended the event and greeted our performers with applause. It was a success. These days GITIS master classes on classical choreography are being held in Dakar. I also met with young talent who are going to participate in admissions for GITIS choreography faculty. They are waiting to come to Moscow, and I hope that everything will work out,” says Mr. Zaslavskiy.
The concert was organized by the Grand Theatre in Dakar and the Kalinka cultural center. These days GITIS professor Maksim Valukin was leading classical dance workshop in Grand Theatre in Dakar.
