Russian Drama theatre of Kostanay, Kazakhstan, presented the show “The Captive” at the International student festival of final year shows “Your chance/GITIS fest”.
This performance was marked as a special event as it is the work of a creative team of GITIS graduates — a project GITIS pioneered and is now one of the main contributors.
For the fourth year, creative teams of graduates of GITIS and other leading art schools are staging and producing their first performances in Russian theatres abroad and in theatres in Russia. The project is supported by the Federal State agency Rosconcert, the GITIS Board of Trustees, the Presidential Grants Fund.
The performance of the Kostanay Regional Russian Drama Theatre presented the result of this work of our graduates in Moscow at the GITIS Theatre. “The Captive” is based on the comedy by Aleksander Ostrovsky. Creators are: director — Evgenia Tikidji-Khamburyan, a graduate of Andrey Konchalovsky class, set designer — Vasilisa Kutuzova, a graduate of Anatoly Ledukhovsky and Stanislav Morozov class, light designer — Alexander Krasnoded, a student of Alexander Ursin class.
